Welcome to the new official web site of the Balatonfüred International Guitar Festival!
On our web site you can find details about the various programmes of the Guitar Festival, get to know the performers of the Festival and receive information about prices and venues. Here you can also find the Application Form of the Guitar Festival, the completion of which is recommended for those who would not be satisfied with visiting only a few concerts but wish to spend a while at Lake Balaton. We would be glad to help you find and reserve accommodation for you, so that when you arrive in Balatonfüred you can enjoy every minute of a pleasant, relaxing holiday, accompanied by excellent guitar music!

The Balatonfüred International Guitar Festival is a grand musical and cultural event which wishes to present its audience with the highest quality possible year by year, offering a multitude of musical genres, without having to be tied to only one style. The lovers of classical music, jazz, flamenco or lighter music will all find their ‘cup of tea’ on the various days of the festival, being pampered by real curiosities and the highest quality presented by the representatives of the different musical styles.

Let me address a few words to our guitar performers as well!

We await you with a special master course this year!
We have invited to this year’s festival one of Cuba’s most famous composers, Leo Brouwer, who is known by younger generations only by his masterpieces. Now the opportunity is given to take part in his master course, whether as an active participant or a member of the audience. You can find all the necessary information on the Application Form!
Grab your guitar and come play! During the second year in the history of the Guitar Festival we announced a Guinness World Record attempt and so do we today when we are preparing for the 3rd season. Our last year’s record have been broken by Canadian musicians with 200 hours of continuous playing. This, naturally, we are not really willing to leave at that! The stage and the rules are the same as last year, the majority of the technical staff has accepted the challenge again and the whole concert will be broadcast also on the Internet! Here we will have the various television and radio channels, as well as Internet news portals reporting on this great event. Those who took part in last year’s record breaking know what enormous fun those 192 hours were! Come and register; this year’s attempt will be memorable for every one of you to the same extent! The duration of this concert depends also on other possible record breaking attempts aiming at the current record of 200 hours (maybe in Japan…?).
Anyway, the stage is ours for 240 hours, up to 1st July.
